First Edition. Original orange speckled cloth with gilt ruled partitions on the spine, with title and author in gilt lettering to the spine and front board. With a small Corot illustration in black on the front board. beneath the lettering all within a gilt ruled rectangle. top edge gilt vii, 102 pages, plus a picture index and one page of ads. 50 illustrations, 11 of which are full page plates, and 5 of those are etchings. 9.5 X 11.5 inches. A good copy, with spine ends crushed and corners bumped, covers a little dustsoiled, internally the front free endpaper is splitting at the hinge, there is some foxing to the half title page, and one etching and a couple of pages towards the end of the book also have foxing, Otherwise mostly fairly clean throughout, A sound copy.
