There is a half dollar size missing corner on rear end page. Stain on front board and rear board shows signs of water but pages unmarked. Dust jacket (see pictures for condition) is in a new Brodart cover.

Dust jacket chipped with loss at head of spine, affecting "Betrayal" in spine title, slightly chipped at heel of spine, some edge rubbing evident; jacket appears to have been printed for a slightly thicker book, prior to the change-over to wartime paper, and is labeled on front flap as a Fourth Printing, but the book is a stated First Edition, so either the jacket is not original to this copy, or subsequent printings of the book were not noted as such on the copyright page. pp. 108-109 browned where a vintage associated news clipping from the New York Sunday Mirror has been laid in, else clean interior. Very scarce signed copy, personally inscribed by author to Hortense Joy Gold, occupying most of front flyleaf, with her color book plate mounted on front pastedown. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
