Corners slightly bumped. Moderate wear on cover edges, corners, and spine ends. Frontispiece portrait of Maggie. This is the whimsical diary of a twelve year old Irish girl's adventures and travels to France and America, a best seller during the second world war. Owen, later Wadelton, also published the ghost story novel "Sarah Mandrake" in 1946.

The diary of a 12 year old Irish girl, found in a trunk in an attic and brought forth in the US. It begins, "January 24, 1908. This is me birthday and I consider me New Year begins this day instead of January first. Anways I was given this book for a present and a gold soverign along with it, a prayer book also that I have too many of." (from flap). Overall, a handsome reading copy. Several light spots along bottom edges and front hinge (moisture lightened?), three pin holes in rear hinge, else tight, bright and unmarred. Dj shows light shelf wear, touch of color transfer on inside, else bright and clean. Green cloth boards, gilt lettering, frontispiece, green topstain. Small 8vo. 262pp.
