2 ouvrages parus chez le même éditeur et à la même date, reliés en 1 vol., Paris, Antoine de Sommaville, 1657, in 12 de (24)-396-(12) pp. ; (24)-300-(36) pp., portrait de Socrate dans un médaillon gravé sur bois en tête du texte juste après l'épitre, rel. d'ép. plein veau brun moucheté, dos à nerfs orné de fers dorés, pièce de titre de maroquin rouge, restaurations, bon ex. 2e édition revue et augmentée de cette traduction de Xénophon par François Charpentier (1620-1702). Elle additionnée d'une vie de Socrate par le même, et a paru pour la première fois en 1650, elle valut à l'auteur sa réception à l'Académie Française. Notons que dans la querelle des Anciens et des Modernes, il se rangea avec Charles Perrault du côté des Modernes.
