More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached; lighter cracking to rear hinge. Pencil inscription to front pastedown. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean.

New Edn. 252 pages, frontis and 1 other plate, armorial bookplate to front paste down of Arthur Wood. Bound in later 19th century 1/2 dark green morocco top edge gilt, some light rubbing to edges. Westwood and Satchell page 65 a reprint of Letters from the highlands" in an improved form with large additions and the inclusion of the 2 plates Letters from the highlands" and a larger format than the earlier edition 15 cm x 20.5 cm.
1st thus Edn, XII 248 pages, original watered silk cloth with paper label to upper board for the Manchester Anglers Assoc., circular paper label on spine, library ownership stamp to front rear end papers.
2nd Edn, XII 248 pages, bound in half dark red morroco by Baytun, gilt sporting motifs to spine compartments, top of spine chipped, upper corners lightly rubbed, cloth sides evenly faded. Original cloth spine and cover bound in at rear.
