In full leather binding. Externally, smart with some rubbing to the boards and spine. Front hinge is starting and is slightly weakened. Rear hinge is starting but remains firm. Previous owner inscription to front pastedown and reverse of the frontispiece. Pages are firmly bound and generally bright and clean. Good. book.

Annotation in pencil at the rear, collating the plates. 412pp with a folding frontispiece and 202 engraved plates. Provenance: leather bookplate for M.A.D. Lee at the front. Approximately 5 ½ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles and blind decoration, gently worn, 3 gilt raised bands. Joints good condition sound, rubbed. Corners good condition bumped and worn. Boards good condition cloth and leather covered boards, marks and scratches. Page edges good condition all edges marbled, darkened to the top. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition paper cracked, leather sound. Paste downs good condition marbled, bookplate to the front. End papers good condition marbled, lightly tanned and foxed thereafter. Title good condition tanned with foxing.
