Price clipped jacket is edge worn, lightly soiled with chips to head and foot of flap folds and a rubber stamped date to foot of rear flap. Jacket spine is faded and darkened but quite legible with loss to head which has a neatly applied reinforcement to verso. Both end-papers have very light even toning. Bit of soil to head of text block. Binding firm, unmarked copy.

First US edition, hardcover, has a shallow skew to the binding, bumps to the spine ends and corners, spots and smudges to the covers and the edges of the text block, creasing to the corner of several pages, and areas of smudging to some. Overall, this is a solid, Near Very Good copy in a like, unclipped dust jacket, which has bumps with small chips and tears to the spine ends and corners, sunning to the spine and edges, rubbing to the covers with smudging to the back, and wear to the edges with an approx. 2" tear to the head of the back. The jacket is wrapped in Mylar.

Blue pictorial DJ of people on horseback, with red lettering on the front cover and white lettering on the spine. DJ is taped along both edges. The tape is becoming chipped and worn; especially on the head and foot of the DJ's spine. Front gutter cracked through; binding feels a bit loose, but holding steady. Rectangular bookplate from previous owner affixed to the front free attached paper. Title page dated 1954. Stated first American edition. 426 pages plus a page titled "A Note On the Type". Interiors are clean and unmarked. Overall, a good copy.
