Appreciation by Snaffles. 79 tipped-in sketches and paintings (26 in colour) Holiday was a Gunner Officer whose love for animals is reflected in his drawings. He served on the Western Front and died in a riding accident in 1937. Includes some wartime paintings. Apart from some foxing this is a near fine copy in its original and rare dustwrapper, which apartfrom a short tear and slight loss along top rear edge is near fine also. Above average weight.

Copiously illustrated in colour and black and white throughout. This being a subscribed edition published privately by Gale & Polden. A pictorial record of British mounted forces at ceremonial, show-ground, sporting and at war, with particular emphasis on the Royal Artillery. Slight surface wear and edges slightly bumped, otherwise sound, very good. Decent copy.
