No dust jacket as issued, good condition bottle green cloth covered hardboards, with gilt title on front and spine, boards slightly bowed with corners bumped and rubbed, impact indent on front cover, owner's initials on paste-down, book sellers embossed stamp on flyleaf, small scribble on flyleaf verso, pages lightly tanned, text block rough on edges, clean text, tight binding, crack along front seam but still sound, 11.5cm x 18cm x 2cm, 260+pp, $29. A mid-nineteenth century decription of all things 'dog', the breeds, the training, the care and diseases of dogs. The latter part is comprehensive. This book follows the Victorian tradion of seeking to catalogue explain the natural world.

Hardcover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. First Edition. 1st Edition, MDCCCLXI, 260 pages. Dark green cloth on boards, gilt lettering on spine. Light spotting on covers, especially on the back. There is a blind stamp on top of ffep - appears to be 'W H Smith & Co. Library' but no other evidence of it being a lending library book. A few pages opened carelessly, thus torn at edges, not affecting text. Some pages still unopened. Covers most breeds of dogs in Great Britain at that time. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
