Has B/W & colored illustrations throughout. In England, the county of Licolnshire, three little rivers and a canal come together to make a small green island of the town of Epworth. It was the market town for a wild and rough farming country. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Dust jacket is impressively illustrated on front and rear in pastel colors, and is one continuous country scene. DJ has multiple edge tears with wear along the flap edges also. Additionally, the DJ has a 1 x 3/4 piece missing at the rear top right corner. 96 pages.

With many full-page color illustrations. First edition (first printing, with an "A" on the copyright page and no indications of later printings). This is a very good copy in burgundy cloth, showing minor shelfwear. The jacket (correctly priced at $2.50) is missing a couple of shallow pieces along the top edge and at the corners, but is generally about very good. Signed by McNeer and Ward opposite the title page.
