The initials "RC" are handwritten in black marker in the lower right corner of the front cover. A few small scrapes or rub marks on the front cover. Lower left corner of the back cover is creased. The book will be bubble-wrapped and carefully packed in a sturdy box to ensure safe transit.

The condition of the book is an attractive 'Near Fine' and that of the dust-jacket is 'Very Good'. The book is bound with grey-coloured textured cloth on stiff boards. The spine titles are in gilt. The endpapers are light green-coloured. The book has 151 numbered pages. The book is not illustrated. However it does have three of the leading writers of that time (and whose reputations still shine brightly) exploring the inner landscape of the mind. The size of the book in inches is 8.7 x 5.7 and it weighs 0.34 kg. As with all our sales of books within the UK, we only ever charge a flat standard delivery cost of £3.35. A very good copy, a little rubbing to dust jacket extremities, and short tear along the joint of the spine.

The Tester family were neighbours to the Peake's in Wepham, Sussex. Dorothy Tester worked for Mervyn's parents as a housekeeper, her sister Corina Tester was Mervyn Peake's goddaughter.
