Stellenweise gebräunt bzw. braunfleckig, ansonsten sauber und in guter Erhaltung. Foerster (1822-1865) wurde 1852 außerordentlicher Professor der pathologischen Anatomie in Göttingen, im Alter von 38 Jahren nimmt er einen Ruf als Nachfolger Virchows in Würzburg an. Dort stirbt er bereits 1865. - "F. besitzt grosse Verdienste um die Entwicklung der pathologischen Anatomie und in specie der Histologie und hat durch selbständige Untersuchungen und Arbeiten zur Ausbildung dieser wesentlich beigetragen" (Hirsch/H.). - "Als Diagnostiker hat sich Foerster in Göttingen eines ausgezeichneten Rufes erfreut. Henle schreibt darüber an seinen Freund Karl Pfeufer am 20. April 1865, dass der Chirurg Baum versicherte, 'ohne Förster nicht leben zu können, weil dieser ihm noch während der Operation oder gleich danach den Namen für die exstirpierte Geschwulst lieferte'.
