Couverture souple. Etat : Très bon. Pas de jaquette. Edition originale.

Hardcover. Etat : Good Plus (or better). First American Edition. Tan cloth binding, front cover quite soiled or discolored, spine and rear cover very clean. Ligth cover edge wear, well bound, firm inner hinge. The paper stock used for printing this book is relatively heavy, one leaf has a 3 inch closed tear, o/w there are only very light signs oh handling wear and otherwise pleasingly clean for such a book. Printed on heavy paper stock, illustrations throughout in b/w and black and orange, plus 8 color plates, as issued, all present, one of which shows wear to front edges. Provenance: there is a neatly written gift inscription on front flyleaf, dated year of publication ("To 'Bow' -- A Christmas Greeting. SCW. 1912),with former owner's small blind stamp monogram on Contents page and again in the rear of the volume. This monogram is difficult to make out but contains a "W" and this could be the gifter's not the recipient; also included in this book is an old photograph with a man and young boy with the same monogram stamped on it (laid in loosely, size 2 1/4 x 3 1/3 inches). If it is the man and recipient of this book it would be older than 1912 as the boy is only about 2 1/2 years old.
