The novelist's oldest son saw no reason not to publish it after his own death if the majority of the family agreed to do so. They did and the manuscript was first published in 1934 becoming the last of Charles Dickens' works to see publication. Cream colored covers with blind stamped design on front cover and gold gilt lettering on spine. Lettering on spine is bright. Light soiling on covers and spine with a 1" brown stain on top front hinge. Gold gilt top page ends in fine condition. Light foxing on other page ends. Light foxing on inside front and back covers. Text is clean and unmarked. Hinges tight. Slipcase shows heavy wear but is still solid. All of our books are individually inspected and described. Never ex-lib unless explicitly described as such.
