First edition, first issue. Size: 4to. [v], 104pp. Mottled quarter leather (head and foot of backstrip a little missing), marbled boards, front hinge worn. First performed at the Théâtre du Châtelet, 22 May 1911, but here cited as 20 May.

First edition, first issue. Size: Large 4to. [v], 104pp. Sewn as issued in publisher's printed cream wrappers (backstrip very worn with an old repair with tape, sewing weak/broken); internally fine. Title printed in red and black. Some of the features which distinguish this from later issues are: the printer named on the title-page and last page of music is Chaimbaud, the performance date on p.[iii] is "20 Mai 1911" and the copyright date on the title-page and p.1 is 1911. Debussy composed this incidental music in 1910-11: it was written for the dancer Ida Rubinstein (1883-1960) and was first performed on 22 May 1911 at the Théâtre du Châtelet.
