Livre
Hardcover. Etat : Fair. 436p. Red cloth with giltwork on spine, gilt edges. Heavy wear to exterior with bumping, soiling, rubbing. The bottom inch of the spine paneling has come up and is partially loose. The cloth overlaps at either end of the spine are worn away, and the cloth is wearing through along the hinges. Sticker attached to front pastedown. Gift note on flyleaf done in pretty illuminated calligraphy. Heavy foxing to frontispiece and illustrated half-title; very little to no foxing to main text, but paging/handling soil and some marks in pencil. The print is tiny. Break in spine with exposed webbing and stitching between title page and first page of text, and so the early gatherings have a little extra wiggle room. Combined with the worn cloth on the exterior and you get a rather weak binding that requires very gentle handling; however it is still in one piece. Size: 32mo - over 4 in - 5 in tall. Year: 1850.
