Hinges are firm and tight. Pages are toned, mostly around edges. Spine cocked, with a forward lean. Has a bit of an old book smell, but is clean without signs of mildew. Small faded blemish mark and some surface scratches on top of text block. Fore edge of textblock was roughly trimmed, so some fore edges of pages are rubbed or lightly frayed. Text contains a loose, somewhat enigmatic slip of paper with a typewritten message, hand signed by "The Torrey Family" to a "Mr. Fred Beadle" (see photo). Hardcover board corners turned in a bit. A few minor bumps along board edges, and a more notable ding on bottom of back board near spine, where edge is turned in a bit. Fabric on top/bottom of spine pushed and rubbed.
