No Binding. Etat : Good. Etat de la jaquette : No Dust Jacket. Cady, Harrison (illustrateur). KPC 011550. CARP A variant of "The Thonrton Burgess Animal Book" i- instead of hardbound this is a set of 8 stapled booklets . 1961 reprint of the 1942 edition. Each booklet has a vividly colorful cover illustration and Cady's wonderful work on each page (about half in color and half not). Each booklet has a name in ink at top right corner of the cover and all have some soiling to their wraps. Peter Rabbit and Reddy Fox each have some scribbling in ink on the cover, which, however, does not blemish the cover art. Reddy Fox also has a messy taping job on his cover, though the image remains clearly visible. Without exception, these booklets are tight and their interiors are pristine, colors simply glowing. For those who were raised on them, however, the real delight is in the wise little fables of Burgess himsef. I believe this is the complete set- some have slightly different titles from when they first appeared in the early 1940's.
