Livre Edition originale
Soft cover. Etat : Fine. 1st Edition. San Francisco Blues by Jack Kerouac. In dark green wrappers with printed pictorial label. Binding is in fine condition, contents clean. San Francisco Blues was Kerouac's first book of poems, written in 1954. This is the first complete edition, printed by Beat Books, 1983. The entire 79 choruses, followed by 2 pages of notes and a map of downtown San Francisco. "The complete text of San Francisco Blues, which Kerouac typed up from his notebooks for Don Allen in 1961, consisted of 79 jazz choruses. After reading over the finished manuscript at that time Kerouac came to see clearly that the complete work possessed a 'beautiful unity', and he therefore expressed a sincere hope that it could be published as a whole - without excerpting or the scattered use of individual choruses. Unfortunately this was not to be. Until the publication of this edition, bits and pieces of SAN FRANCISCO BLUES were available only in various scattered printed and recorded portions." 5 7/8 x 8 1/4 inches. Unpaginated but with individually numbered poems. Inventory #23-187. Price: $150.
