Etat : Fair. 1937. New Cheap Edition. 310 pages. No dust jacket. Red cloth. Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages slightly loose. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Heavier to endpapers and pastedowns. Previous owner's inscription to front free endpaper. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing to spine ends. Tears to cloth to spine. Wear marks overall. Book has moderate forward lean.

Spine slightly sunned. xxvi pages argument, 310 pages. Small ding to top edge of upper board. Small stamp of Catholic Book-a Month Club on rear board. This was translated by the Rev Fr John O'Connor. It is a long play, taking about 11 hours to stage, and is set during the Renaissance at the time of the Conquistadors; it is a love story dominated by the ideas of sin and redemption and the various characters, some divine and some comic, frequently engage in a dialogue as though between Heaven and Earth. Size: 220x145mm.
