Quarter dark-blue leather, upper board and spine titled in gilt. Small chip & slight wear to edge of spine, ink-blot from limitation number, slight soiling but good. Numbered copy from an edition of 500 copies. Snowden Sleights was a professional fowler in "ings and carrs" of the valley of the Yorkshire Derwent in the latter part of the Nineteenth Century. Chapters on punts and punt-gunning, wildfowling and flight shooting, the birds of the Derwent Valley, and on salmon, eel and lamprey fishing. Well-illustrated with contemporary photographs and with two plates by Stanley Duncan. One of the scarcest of our early wildfowling books. For this new edition Major Grahame had access to Sydney Smith's original photographic plates. In consequence, the photographs reproduced in this book are in a larger format, and of very much higher quality, than those inthe first edition. He also reproduces several which did not occur in the first edition. Quarter dark-blue leather over buckram boards, this is a numbered copy from an edition limited to five hundred. .

Remnants of original dust wrapper appear to have been stcuk to front board although this has title ' The Art of an Old Wild fowler ' boards lightly rubbed, no fading. Clean copy internally, new end papers. Text appears to be complete with adverts to front and rear, some spotting to adverts and a small stain to edge of front page of adverts. There is a fold out photo to front of book which is undamaged, edges of text block slightly soiled. Happy to supply photos on request. Heavy book which will require additional postage outside the UK.
