Also laid-inis 15.5cm x 10cm sheet of paper with what appears to be a handwritten excerpt in the author's hand. INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR on title-page: "To --- (kin to this tale) / Some old pictures for young eyes, old voices for young ears. A. L. Crabb, Aug. 17, 1944.". INSCRIBED BY CRABB. Book.

Very nearly fine in gilt-titled and decorated red silk cloth, menu designed endpapers; without dust jacket. Presentation copy with a warm Christmas 1943 inscription, SIGNED by the author to the verso of the front endpaper. Dr. Crabb was best known for his trilogy of historical novels that featured Nashville landmarks. Second volume in his Nashville trilogy.
