Each of the fables are related to the boys of the school, and only one had previously appeared, privately published. Collated and complete, with ten plates illustrated by John F. Flugel, a previous head boy at the school. The second work is entitled 'Thy Youth and Cause', and is the publication of a speech given by Whitehouse in the school chapel on the 18th March, 1934. He explains that Sundays at the chapel aimed at 'representing every phase of religious belief by concentrating upon constructive accounts of service in the spirit of the teachings of the New Testament, rather than by attention to dogmas that divide'.
