Ajouter au panierHardcover. Etat : Fine. First edition. Octavo. 110pp. Blue cloth stamped in gilt. Illustrated with one black-and-white plate by Richard Jarrett. Due to a binder's error, one leaf of text is bound, in place, but upside-down (the text is complete). Very near fine. Inscribed by Ellis in the year of publication: "4-11-66 To Mr. Willie Carrol. My best regards and I sincerely hope you will help strengthen 'The Weak Link' From William T. Ellis". African-American author was born and educated in Newton, Mississippi. "So much has been written about Negroes and 'the new revolution' caused by rising demands on the part of Negroes for full recognition as 'first class citizens' that the public is confused. I have likened the 20 million Negroes, in America, to a weak link in a chain. The white people of the nation comprise the strong links of the whole chain. The purpose of this book is to help white people realize that proper humanitarianism and compassionate action on their part will prevent the 'weak link' from snapping apart" (from the author's foreword). Scarce.
