Text block is split at page 380/381 and the volume is nearly broken in 2 at that point. Original leather spine much chipped and dried. Pages clean. Some pencil notes on the inside back cover. No blanks. Barrow was a theologian and mathematician. a teacher of Newton, and pioneering theorist whose work on the calculus and tangents laid the groundwork for the great mathematical advancements of the latter half of the seventeenth century. His theological writings were first published after his death in 1677 (1683 is when they were printed.) This 1716 edition is a testament to his lasting popularity and importance. International shipping will be extra. Book measures 9" x 14".

Spine title darkened but legible, Barrow Works Vol. 2 Heavy wear and bumping to the corners and spine tips. Rear joint is fragile and both joints show through the leather in some places. A hard gouge to the top of the front cover through the leather, about dime size. Previous owner's name neatly to the front free-end paper. Red and black title page printing. Some pages dog eared, and all pages somewhat foxed and age toned. Binding and hinges intact, but fragile. 525 pages plus unpaginated index. Barrow is best known for his gifts to mathematics, but this, volume 2 of a three volume set, focuses solely on religion. Liz's Books.
