About the cancellation of a review, which is cancelled because of the Duke of Cambridge's death - which took place in the evening of Monday 8 July 1850, so this letter must have been written the following day. Edité par London printed for T. Becket Adelphi Strand, 1777
Vendeur : Christopher Edwards ABA ILAB, Henley-on-Thames, OXON, Royaume-Uni
8vo in fours, pp. [iv], 34; disbound. First performed at Covent Garden in 1773: at first, this burletta had been rejected by the Lord Chamberlain because of some satirical references to members of the Royal Family, but after excisions it was put on with great success. The 'English burletta' was a form of entertainment that bridged the gap between the ballad-opera of the early 18th century and the later comic opera, and was largely created by O'Hara himself.

Vendeur : Christopher Edwards ABA ILAB, Henley-on-Thames, OXON, Royaume-Uni
8vo in fours, pp. [xii], 64, 57-68; disbound. New edition: first published in 1774 - this is a very close reprint of that edition, copying faithfully even the pagination error. The epilogue is by David Garrick, who also read the play before performance and is thanked in the preface: 'Mr Garrick, after perusing the outlines of the two original acts, thought he discovered in the writer some talents for the higher species of comedy, and encouraged him to extend his plan. The most prevalent incentive to the Author, was the promise of Mr. Garrick's assistance, [and] his judgment pervaded the whole.'.

Edité par London: printed and sold by J. Barker Dramatic Repository Great Russell-Street., 1800
Vendeur : Christopher Edwards ABA ILAB, Henley-on-Thames, OXON, Royaume-Uni
8vo in fours, pp. 72, [4]; cut very close occasionally touching the catchwords, but otherwise good; disbound. A minor bibliographical oddity: the final two leaves, containing Garrick's multi-character epilogue, are bound in twice. At the end of this is another slight curiosity, an imprint of J. Barker enclosed within a box, which makes it look like a rubber-stamp (although I think it isn't), and which draws the eye in a way that such colophons seldom do otherwise.
