Oln. mit Illustriertem Schutzumschlag. Letzterer mit stärkeren Randläsuren und -einrissen (max. 7 cm), teils mit Tesa fixiert. Abgesehen vom stärker defekten Schutzumschlag aber sehr gutes Exemplar. Im vorderen Einbanddeckel in Einstecklasche 4 Bl. deutscher Zusammenfassung des englischen Textes. Zweite deutsche Auflage. Diese Ausgabe nicht bei Heidtmann, der nur die Erstausgabe von 1964 und die Paperback-Ausgabe von 1969 nennt (vgl. H. 11295 und 12673). Das Buch hat einen deutschen Einband- und Umschlagtitel, Titel und Texte innen aber in Englisch, es wurden die Druckbögen der amerikanischen Originalausgabe bei Crown Publishers, New York verwendet. Dort war der Band erstmals 1962 zuerst als Kassettenausgabe mit losen Bögen, dann als Buch erschienen. Bedeutender südafrikanischer Photograph (1926-2009), der besonders als Akt- und Modephotograph (u.a. Vogue, Harpers Bazaar etc.) bekannt wurde. In den 1960er-Jahren erlangte er mit vorliegendem und weiteren Aktbildbänden (Cowboy Kate, November girl etc.) internationalen Ruhm. Sehr beachtenswert ist aber auch sein Band "African Image" von 1967, eine photographische Hommage an seine südafrikanische Heimat, deren Landschaften, Tiere und indigenen Völker. Sprache: en.
