pp 242 An inscribed reprint by the bush-man of Cheyne Walk with an autograph letter from the book's dedicatee, his second wife, laid in. The author has inscribed the book to John and Diana Webel, apparently as a wedding gift', referring to it as 'something born of my own marriage in the same year'. Laid in is a later letter from 1979 which is an effusive thank you note from Ingaret Van Der Post sent in gratitude for the return of a 'white coat', left behind at a signing event: 'I so enjoyed my husband's "signing books" lunch and I meet so many interesting people that I quite forgot my old coat.'
