More than 50 interviews with successful entrepreneurs. New expanded edition features Michael Gerber, Christine Comaford, Allen Fishman (TAB), Bob Parsons (Go Daddy), Kim Jordan (New Belgium Brewing), and Jake Jabs (American Furniture Warehouse). Before you can walk in the shoes of those you admire, it helps to first stand on their shoulders. Includes timeless advice and many perspectives. For example; emulate to learn, but innovate to earn. Those featured in 50 Interviews offer proof that with enough desire and persistence, anything is possible. To find success, they each blazed a new trail and became innovators. There are two types of people in this world; those who ponder and those who act. 50 Interviews showcases that latter, offering an honest glimpse into the mindset of a true entrepreneur. Their answers offer real life wisdom, insight and practical advice you can put to use now. These entrepreneurs are living proof that you can create something from nothing and that without risk, they can be no reward. They teach us that failure is the pathway to success, a burning passion the essential fuel, and having a purpose greater than ourselves is the key to fulfillment. 'Very few books these days combine short vignettes with powerful direct impacts that can be used immediately. The ROI for 50 Interviews is two minutes tops. Brian s formulaic approach enables the reader to extract the collective insight and experience of 50 divergent entrepreneurs. His dialogue throughout the book allows us to vicariously ask the questions we would have wanted to ask any successful entrepreneur and learn succinctly what worked for them.' -Michael R. Webb, Co-Founder, Aubice LLC 'I wish I had a copy of 50 interviews when I launched my first company, I would have covered much more ground a whole lot faster.' -Mike Michalowicz, Author of The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur 'There are two ways to learn about entrepreneurship: one, give it a try, and two, talk to people who have lived and breathed it for years in the crucibles of start-ups. 50 Interviews gives readers a front-row seat to the action, offering future entrepreneurs lessons learned the hard way. Read it, learn, and then go do it!' -Gregg Vanourek, founding partner, New Mountain Ventures, and co-author, Life Entrepreneurs: Ordinary People Creating Extraordinary Lives

About the Author :
When I first began the interview process, my intention was simply to explore the possibilities of entrepreneurship to see if it was the path for me. I wanted to take a look at what being in business for myself really meant before I took the leap. I must give credit where credit is due. It was my wise and wonderful wife who suggested I interview 50 entrepreneurs. She secretly hoped that by the time I interviewed 50 people, I would forget about this crazy idea and stick to my daily grind. Truthfully, we were both pretty fearful of giving up the security of a steady paycheck to start a business. I took my wifes advice and began reaching out to schedule interviews with entrepreneurs from a variety of industries and backgrounds. What began as a career exploration exercise turned into something much bigger than I ever imagined. In the process of doing those first 50 interviews, I had a personal awakening. I was enlightened, not only about all things entrepreneurial, but also about the power of the interview process itself. I am a voracious reader of non-fiction. I have always enjoyed learning from the experiences of others. As I completed each interview, I was struck by the potency of the information that was being offered through the oral exchange of ideas. Today I have build a business around helping others adopt this framework for themselves. You can learn more at 50interviews.com.
Review :
50 Interviews: Entrepreneurs is a must-have for any serious entrepreneur. As a successful author, writer s coach and part-owner of a small press, I can attest to the pure satisfaction of creating and running a business you love, but also the myriad challenges. One of the characteristics of true entrepreneurs, though, is that we never stop learning, and reading Brian Schwartz s interviews has given me new insights and inspiration. I ve been reading an interview a day to spark my creative energy and focus on the expert advice from each business owner. This book is great not just for those considering entrepreneurship, but for those of us living the dream. --Teresa R. Funke, Author of The Home-Front Heroes Collection

Whether you are thinking about starting a business or already have, 50 Interviews shows that you don t need to make all the mistakes yourself, Read this book and learn from those who are already succeeding. Quit dreaming and start living. --Joe Sabah, Founding President of the Colorado Speakers Association (now NSA/Colorado)

Did you ever wish you could have coffee with some successful entrepreneurs? 50 Interviews can almost do that for you. During interviews with a wide range of businesspeople, Brian asked them the questions you would want them to answer. Great insights into the minds of an eclectic group of go-getters. --Bob McDonnell, Freelance Writer in Loveland, CO
