Hardcover. Etat : Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Good. 1st Edition. A VERY RARE BOOK IN A COMPLETE DUST JACKET - WITH A SIGNED DEDICATION FROM THE AUTHOR AND ADDITIONAL INSCRIPTION TO THE FRONTIS AND OTHER INKED DETAILS BY HIS HAND : [ 1931 ] : Quite clearly a rare book, and together with the additional provenance and inscriptions, makes this copy unique. Typically known as the Preacher-Pianist, the Rev Lochran elaborates by indicating that Gardner-Hunter has struck an entirely new chord - for Christian people, with his music . Claiming it to be original, with the spirit of Orpheus, but also the nobler spirit of the Master. Unique in word and song. It was the publishers intention that the Author had his own copies to hand out { see image of title page }, see also the dedications referred to. Presented to the Rev and Mrs G.Brown on the 11th March 1967. Many years after the publication. This maybe the reason for the freshness of this copy, although the dust jacket is somewhat dusty and with edge wear and a few short tears. Contains ten sermons on a religious theme interspersed/illustrated with sacred songs. A fascinating survivor. p.114, Music sheets and Text. Signed by Author(s).
