Well worn but spine gilt still brilliant, fraying at all corners with top of spine worn down to level of the page block. Hinges tight. Name stamp of John Murdoch, stamp of bookseller B R Cousen of Swansea, also ownership signature of John G Tate of the Barque "West Glen", and signature of Henry Cumming. Front endpaper with signature "Henry C Hansen, Shanghai, Sept 21, 1917". Light foxing to end pages, light browning to pages.

A nice copy, presented in an attractive restored period binding. With some attractive MS notes to the front blank leaf To my father and mother and to no other, I give this book. God give them grace their eyes to look. And ponder well what there is writ. That they may be for heaven fit. And when the bell doth for them toll. Pray God in Heaven save their souls. By me, B.H.
