Hard cover laminated pictorial boards, 239pp, b&w photos. Inscribed by Ted to former owner on title page otherwise a fine copy. After training in Rhodesia, the author went to England and flew with 452 Squadron RAAF. He was later posted to the Middle East with 450 Squadron RAAF and flew 22 operational sorties. His next posting was with 92 RAF East India Squadron that was forming the first Spitfire Wing with the 8th Army in the Western Desert. He played a part in the El Alamein battle as his squadron followed Montgomery's offensive, ending in Tunisia. After a period on Malta and a stint as an instructor in an OTU in Egypt, he was sent home to serve in the Pacific War, flying with 457 Squadron from Darwin and Morotai towards the war's end. The bulk of this book follows his flying career, but also briefly covers his very full life. This revised edition includes many corrections from the first edition, as well as some additional material, including a new final chapter, "Final Salute to the Few" which tells of Ted's participation in the September 2005 65th Battle of Britain anniversary commemorations.
