Edition originale
Etat : Fine. Limited Edition; First Edition Thus. No. 271 of 325 limitation, one of 305 on vélin de Rives. With a striking Art Deco full morocco binding by Leprêtre. Binding features a geometric design blindstamped and gilded onto pebbled black morocco. The design employs bands of five ruled gilded lines, the lines within a band of descending width. A centerpiece which is purely blindstamped suggests a lamppost lantern with the number 10 framed. Folio, 33 by 25.5 cm. 65 pp. With 19 engraved plates, both b/w and tinted, after Degas and executed by Maurice Potin. Most unusual are a table of plates in the back, in which the non-text plates are rendered as line drawings on four plates. These are in addition to 17 engraved drawings interspersed within the text, engraved by Georges Aubert and printed by Henri Jourde . With satin and marbled endpapers. Slipcase with same marbled papers as pastedown. Light wear to the slipcase. Foxing to three prelim blanks. Otherwise, clean and fresh. Decorated Full Morocco. Slipcase with paper pastedown.
