A detailed, 431 page oversized book that details the Loyal Edmonton Regiment from its conception through WW II. Fold out maps and Glossy photos (B & W) . This book was not for general consumption but was printed by the Regiment Associates as a record of accomplishment. Book is Very Good +. A rather lengthy gift inscription on the first fly that mentions the First Special Service Force. The Dust jacket has a small tear on lower right front and upper rear right. Worn a bit on edges. Text block edges slightly darkened and have light foxing spots, otherwise book is clean, bright and tight. Illustrated with plates (including frontispieces) from photos, etc and 11 folding maps. Dust jacket slightly edgeworn, chipped at the head. Appendices included. very good The Loyal Edmonton Regiment trace their origins back to the 101st Regiment, founded in 1908. They served on the Western front in WWI, and were an instrumental force in the invasion of Italy in WWII. George Roy Stevens graduated the University of Alberta in 1915 and served with the PPCLI for 3 years in the Great War and was wounded twice.
