Small thick octavo, single issue, original yellow wrappers printed in black, perfect bound. The last issue of THE VAGRANT. Includes "The Green Meadow" by H. P. Lovecraft and Winifred V. Jackson, writing as "Lewis Theobald, Jr." and "Elizabeth Neville Berkeley," the first printing of this story, which was first published in book form in BEYOND THE WALL OF SLEEP (1943). Additionally, there are two poems by Lovecraft in this issue, "A Garden" and "Nathicana" (as by "Albert Frederick Willie"), plus Arthur Henry Goodenough's "Further Recollections of Amateur Journalism . [Written in 1920]," which includes mention of his friend H. P. Lovecraft, as well as a Lovecraft poem addressed to Goodenough. Also in this issue is "The Servant of the Gods," an early short story by H. Warner Munn. Joshi I-B-iv-a-26, I-B-iii-79, and I-B-iii-112. Some discoloration to top and fore-edge of the front cover, otherwise a nearly fine copy. This is the scarcest issue of THE VAGRANT and it is rare in nice condition. (#136195).
