It is the original manuscript of the Journal, now one of the treasures of the Mitchell Library, Sydney, that is published here for the first time. As an item of provenance, these volumes were from the library of Lieutenant Andrew David of the Royal Navy. His bookplate is on the front free endpapers. Please note that these volumes are heavy. ( 4 volumes). Thus, we have here 3 of the 4 volumes with Volume 2 not included. Volume 3 has some minor impact damage to one edge and a repaired dustwrapper at the impact point. This is all minor and digital photos can be supplied.
