Barber was a climbing superstar, known as "Hot Henry" and an early advocate of clean climbing as well as a prolific solo climber who claimed many first solo ascents, mostly in the 1970s. This book, written when Barber was just 28, discusses his climbing career from his teens in Yosemite, Australia,and elsewhere, through the controversy surrounding his 1978 attempt on , when his climbing partner Rob Taylor was seriously injured with a badly broken ankle and accused Barber of abandoning him.
