More prominent to text block edges. Plates are bright and clear. Binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild mottling, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

Presentation plate by the chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board to Captain Ian Nicholson pasted down on verso of front endpaper. 2 letters and 2 newspaper clippings loosely inserted. Internally near fine. Scarce. 28.2 x 27. Wellington / Port Nicholson was named in honour of Captain John Nicholson, Harbour Master at Sydney (appointed in January 1821), the great great grandfather of previous owner Captain Ian Nicholson R.A.N. and Maritime Historian.
