Volume one ("Contayninge a very lively and true Description of the Flowers of the Springe") unpaginated. Comprises half title, limitation page, illustrated title page, text title page, poem by Thomas Wood, 9pp preface by Eleanour Sinclair Rohde, followed by 41 full page drawings of flowers each faced by a page of text. Volume two ("Contayning a very lively and true Description of the Flowers of the Summer, Autumn and Winter") unpaginated. Comprises, half title, limitation page, illustrated title page, text title page,10pp preface by Eleanour Sinclair Rohde, note on the translation by Spencer Savage, text title page for Summer, full page illustration, followed by 20 full page drawings each faced by page of text, Autumn title page, full page illustration, 25 full page drawings of flowers and 2pp drawings of bulbs, all but one faced with a page of text, Winter title page, full page illustration, 12 full page drawings with accompanying text. The text in both volumes is in a handwritted style and the calligraphy was by Margaret Shipton. Volume one has a partial dustwrapper (lacking the spine and part of the front cover). In volume one a split to the spine has been repaired, but there is rubbing of the leather to the side of the spine. Volume two is rubbed to top & bottom of spine. Overall G+ nr VG.

Bound in the publishers quarter green leather with marbled paper covered boards. Top of the spine of volume one is lightly bumped. All the edges are lightly rubbed, else very good. Both volume are complete with dustwrappers, some very small tears and tiny chips to the edges and the spine edge of volume two is torn with no loss. Some slight marking and foxing. Generally a very good set. Extremely unusual in dustwrapper's as the set is in oblong quarto format and the dustwrapper's are flimsy. Not price clipped. Rare in this condition. Book.
