There are some tiny black marks to the rear panel & 2 small stains to the front flap. ix, [i], 133 & [1] pages. Profusely illustrated by Muirhead Bone with 32 plates in color and black & white, including a color frontispiece, & with black-and-white vignettes and head- & tail-pieces. There are 2 light scotch-tape marks to each endpaper. Very good. Second edition.

VG/VG. One signature of sheets (pp.65-78) just slightly askew, with mild separtion at pp.64-65 but all holding fine and tight. Light bumping with touches of surface loss at lower tips of boards; spine end softening. Mild toning to endpapers only with some light paste bleeed-through discoloration to front endpapers. Textblock, cloth and gilt bright and clean. Rear panel of jacket rubbed with associated soil. Several spots of surface loss to jacket spine with 1/4" diameter hole to spine between title and illustrator name (reveals white paper-backing of Brodart beneath). Central panel and illustration fine save for rubbing along fore edge.

Name to the front end paper, both joints are cracked and have been crudely repaired, chips across spine ends, internally clean and sound and without any foxing to the text block.
