Etat : VG in G DJ. Vilhein Pedersen (illustrateur). 4th ptg. Blue binding with flower illustration on front cover, title in white lettering on spine. Pretty little book. Andersen was born in Odense on April 2, 1805. From his native Denmark his fairy tales wandered out over the whole world and won him a place among the greated masters of imaginative writing. This is a new translation by Keigwin, well-known English translator of Danish literature straight from the Danish text under the supervision of Andersen Museum Director Svend Larsen. Illustrated with the original drawings by Vilhelm Pedersen who was Andersen's own choice from 1844 till his death in 1859 for 200 drawings. Owner name, DJ edge wear.

The mites under discussion are known to be a source of extreme annoyance to humans as they produce an 'itch'. At the time of publication they had also been identified at the source of river fever in Japan and China and 'scrub typhus' in Queensland, New Guinea and Malaya.
