This Folio Society edition of Clarendon's History of the Great Rebellion has the binding based on the work of an unknown craftsman for @ Th Fables of PilPay' ( London 1699 ) now in the British Museum. The endpapers are adapted from pages in the first edition which showed the standards of the opposing forces. The decorated boards, binding and text block are all square, tight and clean. The cardboard slipcase has wear to the corners and a stain to one corner.

Produced for the folio society, case has a few stains and signs of age but is intact and sturdy, the gilt design binding is based on the 1699 book 'Fables of Pilpay', slightly worn down spine but otherwise as new, end paper design is adapted from the original edition of the Earl's book which show the standards of the opposing forces, binding as new, top page edges blue, paper quality very high as are all the prints, an excellent copy.
