Etat : Fair. 1956. First Edition. 237 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth boards with gilt lettering. Contains black and white plates throughout. Foreword written by Viscount Cunningham of Hyndhope. Slight crinkling to gutters however binding remains firm. Pages and plates remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Slight crushing and fraying to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened. Slight sunning to spine and edges. Book has a slight forward lean.

Moderate tanning, with light foxing and marking to pages. Heavy tanning to text block edges and free endpapers with inscriptions to front. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Light bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends. Book has noticeable forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed with sunning overall.

More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Light cracking and creasing to gutters but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear. Unclipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

Includes chapters on how a ship is built, submarines, and life on a modern battleship. Many black and white photos throughout.Very lightly worn dark blue boards. Corners and edges of spine beginning to appear bumped. There is a closed tear on the bottom of the table of contents (about an inch long), and one on page 35 (same size). Other than that, binding is tight and the interior appears to be clean except for a tape mark from removed tape on ffep.192pp.

Contains 237 printed pages of text with monochrome photographs throughout. Cheap paper browning to the closed page edges, marking to the edges, ink stamp to the front free end paper. Very Good condition book in Good condition dust wrapper with rubs, chips, creases and closed tears, not price clipped 16/-. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, it does not adhere to the book or to the dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A. ROYAL NAVY (RN).
