9¼"x6¼" (23.5x16cm). First edition thus. pp555(1) with monochrome plates, in-text maps and track layout diagrams, two folding maps, detailed appendices, bibliography, and index. Hardback / hard cover: green cloth, backstrip titled etc in silver. Very shallow hardly-visible indentation remaining from erased pencil price at upper outer corner of flyleaf. Small ownership stamp on title-page, from which some ink transference to blank page opposite. VERY GOOD+ copy in VERY GOOD+ unclipped dust jacket with narrow strip along head of backstrip panel lightly rubbed and nicked. (Heavy item, overseas shipping at cost.).

This revised and expanded two volume set is in fine condition bound in green cloth covered boards with bright gilt titling to the spines, there is some light spotting to the boards. Both volumes are bright, tight, white and square.There is a neat inscription to the front paste down of volume one. The unclipped dust wrappers are in fine condition. International postal rates are calculated on a book weighing 1 Kilo, in cases where the book weighs more than 1 Kilo increased postal rates will be quoted, where the book weighs less then postage will be reduced accordingly. Much of the original print run of the first edition of this important history were destroyed as a result of enemy bombing during the Second World War but it was not until this edition, published in 1963 that a completely revised and expanded edition was published. An entirely new section was added taking the story from 1935 up to the time that the "Southern" became part of British Railways. Ref UUU 3.
