Faux Leather Hardback. Etat : VG. Etat de la jaquette : Good Jacket. Second Printing - Stated. This is an original second printing and so stated which came out after the first printing which was limited to 300 copies and is rare to find today. Has a previous owners mark on front blank endpaper and some normal ageing overall with no outstanding fault-features. It is in very good condition or perhaps a little better up to VG plus. The jacket is good but looks much better in the new protective mylar cover. Beautiful full-color plates at frontis and then goes through with many engravings in B/W and photos of the engravers who engraved them aloong with their original addresses. One of the hardest to find and most wanted gun books due to the beautiful engraving work presented. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

Etat : Very Good in Very Good DJ. 2nd printing inscribed by the author to the former gun editor of Field and Stream magazine, "To Mr. Warren Page for being so nice as to finally mention my work in his column without solicitation. Thank You. E. C. Prudhomme 9-23-65" and with a lengthy letter signed to a Mr. Buckley with Prudhomme letterhead dated 5-18-84 that mentions the book coming from "his estate" meaning probably Mr. Page. Very good +, oversized hardcover shows some foxing to top page egdes and bit of bumping to corners and some other very light trace wear, in a very good dust jacket (price at flap) that shows some rubbing and soil and light edge wear that includes a short closed tear. 168 pages illustrated in black & white and color and with an advert for lithographed prints from the publisher laid in. Still a pleasing copy of this edition that is inscribed with signed letter and more from the legendary engraver. Signed.

SIGNED by Prudhomme on the title page directly above a Society of American Engravers blind stamp. Spinal and front cover lettering dulled else this is a tight, fine book. This first edition reportedly had a very small printing of 300. Scarce, especially signed. Signed by Author(s).
