Livre
Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Very nice hardcover in blue/grey/green colored cloth covered boards. Elaborately decorated with crossed whips, horseshoe, saddle, oval image of trotter in harness racing on cover, all in black, with more decorations on backstrip and gilt title spine. Book shows bumped extremities with light color loss but no rub-through. One shallow chip on the fore-edge of the tissue-guarded frontis that shows an engraving of a mare and her colt being held by a small boy. Ink stamped JB initials on fep, no other marks, no writing, tears or soil in the tight and bright 505 pp text. A very interesting read, plenty of great ideas here. I expecially liked the chapter on stable design and layout. More than suitable for gift-giving. No date found and this is a very uncommon book published by Winston, none found at the time of this listing. Previously published 1871 by Porter & Coates, then 1880 & 1882 by Henry T. Coates.
