Related ephemera and replica airbourne patches included (see below) very good The British Parachute Regiment, characterized by their iconic maroon beret, were formed at the request of Winston Churchill. The Paras were dropped into Italy on Febuary 10th, 1941 and completed their first of many special operations, "Operation Colossus", targeting and successfully detonating an enemy aqueduct. From then on their courage and their fighting ability has passed into legend among the British Forces. Craig Seager's copy, who won the Star of Courage and the Medal of Bravery as well as commedations from the Cheif of Defense Staff for his work in Pararescue. Gifted by SJT Frank Manser, a section commander in 7 Platoon of the Paras during WWII. His inscription is on pp.14 and a copy of his medal citation for his actions at the Battle of Arnhem during operation "Market Garden" is loosely tuck in front. Included are 2 replica shoulder patches of the Parachute Regiment (blue pegasus on maroon background) as well as 2 airbourne "propeller" badges.
