America's Part in the War. 7 x 9 inches, 551 pages, in red cloth-covered boards with gilded Statue of Liberty decoration on front cover and gilt title and liberty bell on spine. Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. 1st Edition. From the title page: "Three books in one volume. Book 1. Military History of the War; 2. World Issues of the War; 3. America's Part in the War. . . Fully illustrated with reproductions from official photographs, including maps and drawings." Entire book is clean, square and tightly bound. However, there are major printing format problems with how the book is put together which likely affect all copies, not simply this copy. The pagination of the text is out of order. Page numbers (as well as text continuity) regularly skip 5 and 10 pages, bouncing around in an incoherent manner. Unsure if all the pages are contained in book or not. Exterior is very clean with light bumps to corners and spine. Elaborate gilt and embossed image of Staue of Liberty over globe with eagle image at bottom is well preserved. Interior is very clean, as are the illustrations. Binding is abit loose at certain pages but is generally tight and secure. 3 interior pages are bumped/creased. Book is presentable but usable for illustrations and for reading individual pages rather than for the story continuity.
