Book 4: Southern Division, Part II: Canterbury, Rochester, Chichester, St. Alban s. 1903, Third Impression. Book 5: Eastern Division: Oxford, Peterborough, Norwich, Ely, Lincoln. 1881, New Edition. Book 6: Western Division: Gloucester, Hereford, Worcester, Bristol, Lichfield. 1903, Fourth Impression. Book 7: Welsh Division: Llandaff, St. David s, St. Asaph, Bangor. Second Edition, 1887. In fair condition. Blind stamped cloth boards normally scuffed at edges and worn/bumped at corners. Heads and tails of spines all collapsed with tearing at head of Book 4. Gilt lettering and deco on spines exhibit varying degrees of dulling with Books 1 & 2 exhibiting the most, but all spines remain attractive. Books 4-6 exhibit bookseller s tickets on front paste-downs bottom edges: Henry Walker, New and Old Bookseller, 37, Briggate, Leeds. Laid-in tissue guard (as issued) & title page of Book 1 exhibits foxing. Normal toning in margins through text-blocks with sporadic age-staining and finger-soiling. Bindings remain intact. Please see photos and ask questions, if any, before purchasing. Richard John King (1818 1879) was an English antiquarian and scholar of medieval poetry. He is best known as a writer of handbooks. He was the main writer for Murray's Handbooks to the Cathedrals of England, which were issued during 1861 9, and in the subsequent volume on the Cathedrals of Wales (1873). The Handbook to Hereford Cathedral was printed off separately in 1864, and the account of the three choirs (Gloucester, Hereford, and Worcester) appeared in one volume in 1866. Seven Volumes, Complete as they stand, though an eighth volume on St. Paul's (1879) was also issued. Mixed States. RARES1903FKLM 06/25 - HK2508.…
