Folio, approximately 17.5 x 14.5 inches. Original blind-stamped maroon cloth boards over thick beveled boards, gilt-lettered to upper cover. Complete, with all leaves present per the table of contents, including the outline map of Goodhue County, Minnesota state map, township plats, city and village plats, and Patrons' Directory. Profusely illustrated with full-color double-page township plat maps and full-color city and village plats. Condition: Binding heavily worn â " covers rubbed and abraded with loss to the cloth at the corners and along all edges, exposing the boards beneath; original spine perished and replaced/reinforced with a clear archival tape spine repair that holds the boards to the textblock; front hinge cracked. Internally, the textblock shows significant staining and tide-marking throughout, with prominent dampstaining and discoloration visible on many leaves, particularly along the gutter margins and lower edges; some leaves with foxing, light soiling, and edge wear; preliminary leaves chipped and creased; a few leaves with marginal tears. Despite the staining, the maps themselves remain legible and the original hand-coloring is bright and vibrant. A plat atlas of Goodhue County, Minnesota, published at the high point of the American county atlas tradition by C. M.
